Attention Shoppers [OOC]

On Wednesday, I had surgery done on my left wrist to remove a ganglion cyst and fuse the gap between the bones in my wrist. My left hand is my dominant one and in spite of the 500mg of Vicodin I am taking as prescribed, I'm in constant pain to the point that just moving my fingers kills. I will be working all weekend and starting classes on Monday, so because of that and my current condition I will be out of commission for a few days. Tags will be incredibly slow until I'm back. ~~Typing with one hand takes forever and is surprisingly tiring for my arm/fingers.~~ I'm actually typing this single-handedly before work.

I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

It started out as a simple mission - to do some recon work for Charles about a prospective new student - when everything went to hell. Haylie'd sworn off missions a long time ago, and after being with Remy for the last four months, she'd gathered the courage to go on a mission again, with him at her side.

Upon leaving the park they'd been performing surveillance on, Haylie smiled and kept her arm around Remy's while her free hand fingered her pendant that Remy had gotten her on her birthday. "I think Alison will make a wonderful addition to the school. Her holographic projection capabilities could be a great asset to the X-Men in the future."

"I tink so too, chere." He grinned at Haylie and the way her eyes sparkled when she got excited about something.

The happy moment faded when a large wave of fire rushed toward them and Haylie's reflexes kicked into overdrive. "Remy!" She shouted before tossing him into the bushes and focusing her energy while her arms crossed in front of her body and the flames curled around her before dying off.

Michael was probably going to break his arm patting himself on the back for this one, but he knew he had the perfect birthday gift for Haylie. He had already set it up perfectly so that her gift would arrive in the mail today and be delivered to her office. He wasn’t going to give her any hint or any indication that he got her something until she came to him holding his gift in her hands. She’d probably throw herself at him, which was perfectly fine with him.

He spun around in his office chair, a big grin on his face. Yup, he was a genius and he was so getting laid tonight.

Haylie'd been on cloud nine since she'd gotten her present from Remy, truly touched that he'd actually been saving for the gift. She'd been humming happily all day, zoning out as she fingered the pendant.

Eventually, she decided to take the rest of the day off and lay down in their room, preparing her own little surprise for Remy. She laid back in bed wearing specially-picked lingerie, her hair spilling around her shoulders.

She'd lit some candles strategically-placed around the room and grinned at her set-up. Adjusting the pendant on her chest, she sighed happily. Now? She waited.

This is Bri, your beloved ~~or much hated/tolerated~~ mun for Anna/Haylie/Eva/Lindsay/Adam.

Due to my blatant dumbassery, I've signed on to take a full 10 credits this summer at my local community college. Not only that? She's taking Interpersonal Communications, General Psychology, and General Sociology. The first two run today through July 2nd, Monday through Thursday. Sociology runs Monday and Thursday evening today through July 24th. The mun did not realize how much work this would amount to when she signed on for this. But she needs the credits else she loses her very precious health insurance.

Case-in-point? Free time? Yeah... watch it go bye-bye for the next four weeks. AIM will be incredibly limited and LJ? Well... yeah. It's an unfortunate sacrifice as well. ~~If she has to sacrifice morning coffee runs? She will probably murder someone. Seriously. We're not making this shit up.~~

My muse WILL still be tagging back on her current RP threads (and any future ones?) and will be doing her weekly/monthly prompt responses. ~~Or at least enough to satisfy activity checks of DOOM.~~ But her f-list checking? Yeah, that's not gonna happen much. So if there's anything you REALLY want me or my muse to see, feel free to drop the link in the voicemail post or send it via LJ's messaging system.

How well do you think you know your partner?
I know my fiance very well. I know his desires, his needs, his aspirations, his fears, his hopes, and sometimes what he's thinking with just a glance.
Not many people can say that about their partner.

What was your first impression of your partner?
My first impression of Remy was that he was a charmer, flirt, and a bit of a playboy. However, it didn't stop me from pursuing him - and I'm glad I did. He's been around the block a lot, but for me he's promised to be loyal. First impressions are important, but not as significant as what comes afterward.

Who has more authority in your relationship, you or your partner?
*laughs* Good god, that's no contest at all. I do. You see, Michael is a Southern gentleman and he happens to be wrapped tightly around my finger. The man is capable of putting his foot down, but it really never happens. ~~It's annoying, but adorable.~~

Post-coital discussions - what are yours about?
Usually, Michael will tell me how beautiful or amazing I am, and then he'll pass out. Which is definitely alright, because we wear each other out. A lot.

I knew I was in love when...
It may sound odd, but I knew I was in love with Michael when he made love to me for the first time. Some people don't believe in love at first sight, and I never did either, but... when I met Michael - when he restored life to my wilted flowers - there was something about him that captured my attention. That first date left me feeling so comfortable. Not so empty. After what'd happened with Logan and Hope... I was so broken up inside. Outside his room... when he kissed me for that very first time... it was like my wounds were healed. And then we made love and I could just feel it deep within my heart that we were meant to be together. And look at us now. We're happily engaged and we've surpassed everything life's thrown in our faces. It's a rare sort of love that Michael and I have. He's not just my fiance... he's my best friend. And my partner for life.

How do you respond to feelings of loneliness?
Loneliness is nothing new to me. I spent a lot of time feeling alone. But then Michael came along and he was the very air I breathed. Of course, with his powers he couldn't stay in the city for very long without growing ill so he'd have to leave every so often. When we first met he could last maybe two weeks. Now? Nearly six months without leaving. It's a trade-off, really. I can't leave the city for too long without feeling drained - I think it's from the massive amounts of energy around to draw my power from - but being away from him is the hardest thing for me to do. Before he went away for that very first time, Michael bought me a stuffed dragon whom he named Roy. Roy's job was to be there to remind me that Michael would be back and to keep me company. How do I deal with loneliness? I go to sleep at night holding a little dragon named Roy.
